Misery Loves Company
I’ll be reading 10 or 12 minutes’ worth of spoken word at Novak’s Bar and Grill in the Grove (St. Louis) this coming Monday (August 11).
The event starts at 7:00 PM. Another poet will be reading, too (but I don’t think she does spoken word like mine). We’re the Pips to Ms. Andrea Askowitz’s Gladys. Askowitz will be discussing her new book My Miserable, Lonley, Lesbian Pregnancy.
If you like flow, come listen. Or don’t. I’m not confident in my skills as a spoken word poet at all, so it would probably be easier for me if no one were there.
And, if you come, come back here and tell me what you think of my reading. Or of Julie Dill. Or of Andrea Askowitz. Or of Novak’s. Or of the moon. Consider the moon. Consider it.

After reading the description of this book, I’m super interested in meeting this woman. Female empowerment, FTW!
Of course I’ll be excited to see you too, Kyle.

Novak’s eh? Do you know Eric Jerde? He’s a good friend of mine and a manager/bartender/trivia coordinator at the bar. The owner is his aunt, I think….

I don’t know Eric Jerde. I got booked into this externally. I don’t know anyone at Novak’s. It’s not a bar I go to.
